Kristin Wilton is a Consultant with Summa Strategies, specializing in government relations, communications and event planning. Kristin spends her time at Summa working on files in the areas of energy, infrastructure, trade, environment, real estate, sport and with not-for-profit organizations, among others. She also specializes in the planning and execution of lobby days on Parliament Hill.
Prior to joining Summa, Kristin gained a diverse range of communications experience while working in the not-for-profit industry at the IWK Health Centre Foundation in Halifax, NS, and in corporate communications in the oil and gas industry at Husky Energy in Calgary, AB.
With a passion for politics, Kristin also has experience at both the federal and provincial levels of government, working on Parliament Hill and taking part in several political campaigns. She played a key role in strategy development for each campaign, while also serving as the communications and social media manager. She is experienced in developing internal and external strategic communications plans, social media strategies (with an Advanced Social Media Strategy Certificate from Syracuse University), and planning small and large scale functions.
Born and raised in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Kristin has a Bachelor of Public Relations from Mount Saint Vincent University and a Master’s of Political Management from Carleton University’s School of Public Affairs.
