Get rid of hemorrhoids through healthy eating

hem3We all know how important it is to stay fit and healthy in both body and mind, if we don’t do this then later on in life we will start to experience complications such as various diseases, viruses and other complications such as haemorrhoids.  What are haemorrhoids you may ask? Well it’s an really uncomfortable inflection that is caused by woollen veins in the anal canal and are also caused by various diet problems. Although often painful it’s not usually serious and can often be mitigated by diet change especially if you’re over weight.  There are 2 types of haemorrhoids; the first is internal which means the veins swell within the anal canal and the second is external which is where they swell near the opening.

Do hemorrhoids go away? Yes they do; with some simple diet changes such as the follows.


Your daily food intake should include meat, vegetables, fruit, grains and some dairy produce. A good variety of all of these foods will supply you with all the nutrients you require on a daily basis. Exactly what and how much you should eat will depend on how many calories you need every day. Use the nutrition information on food labels as a reference.

Do you eat enough fruit and vegetables every day. You should eat 2 -4 servings of fruit and 3 -5 servings of vegetables. Also 6 -11 servings from the bread, cereal, pasta and rice group. 3 of these should be whole grain. You can move away from the traditional foods and experiment with some of the more exotic fruits and vegetables that are now available. Keep portion sizes reasonable. It‘s not much good eating large portions and putting weight on when you are supposed to be eating healthily. The recommended serving of cooked meat is 3 ounces. A cup of pasta equals 2 servings and a medium piece of fruit is 1 serving. The recommended size of portions is quite small although information on the actual portion size does vary.

Eat meals at regular times during the day. Your body will adjust to this and you will find you eat less snacks. Try not to skip meals as this will tempt you to overeat later. Snacks are okay as long as they stay snacks and do not become a meal.

Reduce your intake of foods you like that are considered unhealthy. There is no real reason to stop eating what you like as long as you are aware of the ingredients and adjust the rest of your diet to fit in. Chocolate is high in fat and sugar, so if you have a small piece of chocolate every day then cut out the sugar and fat somewhere else.

Eating healthy is not difficult, expensive or time consuming. You don’t have to be a master chef or Mrs Beeton. There are a whole host of recipe books that can help you and give you ideas.
